The new Spectator 2.0 will  have

- a built-in delay. There will always be a 3 minute delay between the live match and the broadcast using Spectator mode. This is primarily to prevent cheating since players will see the action that occurred 3 minutes prior.

- create a server-side record of the Spectated game. This server-side file will capture all in-game actions by all players. This file allows the game to be "replayed"/reviewed at a later date, from alternate Spectator views, or alternate player views, or to review against cheating allegations, or for production of post-game videos. This file is not generally available but available to the Spectator (typically a tournament admin or shoutcaster). Note also that there is no ability to create this .demo record file on the client itself. It is created on the server and then sent to the client Spectating.

support advanced Spectate controls: Rewind, fast-forward, pause, play in slow-motion, play double-speed

at first, be quite buggy; for that reason we will start with only Hi-Rez Devs and a very small number of external testers to preview & test the initial version of Spectator 2.0.

later, be a premium feature. We want tournament admins, shoutcasters and youtube content creators and others to have a path to access new Spectator mode in the future. But no date or pricing for this yet.
